Welcome aboard!
Information page
This page will give you useful information, both aboard the boat and tips in your preparations.
Before you set sail!
Day 1 – Handover and safety briefing
Please set aside 30–45 minutes on the first day of your rental.
During this time, I will give you a thorough walkthrough of the boat, including controls, safety equipment, and navigation in and out of the marina. Maneuvering safely in the marina is particularly important, and I take this part seriously.
After the briefing, the designated driver will be asked to demonstrate basic boat handling under guidance. This is simply to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and that the boat can be operated safely and in a controlled manner.
Safety always comes first.
If, in rare cases, I assess that safe operation of the boat cannot be ensured, the rental may be cancelled. In such a situation, the rental amount will be refunded, minus 1,000 NOK to cover time spent on preparation and briefing.
This has not happened so far, and my goal is always for you to have a safe, enjoyable, and trouble-free experience on the water.
There are a few apps I suggest you have available on your phone:

Skippo
A navigation app. If you have the pro version (ca 180NOK/year) you can plan your route, get estimate on arrival, AIS and much more. I highly recommend this app.

Hjelp 113
If emergency you get in contect with ambulance, share your location etc.

Garmin Active Captain
Another navigation app which I use myself, mostly due to its capability with the Garmin Striker 9SV installed in the boat.
Maps available for purchase in app.
Contract and folders
Each rental require a signed contract. When you sign the rental contract you also state you have read all PDFs below the and spent some time reading this site to get the best knowledge of the boat and its surroundings (area, laws and friendly tips from the coastal service).
* also a printed copy in the boat.
Rent fishing gear?
Fishing rod, heavy fishery (4 available)
nok 100/dag pr Rod
Box w/ Halibut jiggs
nok 350/rent periode
A boating trip can be everything from enjoying the drive and scenery arround Tromsø area to fishing. Outside of Tromsø there are several small island to visit, anchor up for the everning and continue the journey the next day. This is the area where you might get a mighty Halibut.
As you might have noticed, fishing is an expensive hobby, and if it is halibut you are looking for you also need sturdy equipment, which sadly is way to overpriced!
Don’t let that stop you, I have rods for this type of fishing and the lures (jigs) to give you the best possible starting position in the fight with the halibut. If you are lucky enough to have one hooked!
Drop me a few lines regarding this in the rental request you send me.
